Daisy Dukes' jean shorts became a fashion must-have, but they were very nearly removed from her character entirely.

Because the shorts, which later became affectionately known as 'Daisy Dukes', were so skimpy, CBS network was worried that the outfit may prove to be too revealing, thereby falling foul of the censors.

To avoid any unwanted flashing, it was agreed that Catherine Bach would wear pantyhose under the shorts for her role as Daisy, the Duke brothers' cousin.
