Dennis Quaid's casting ultimatum

Tom Wopat is of course remembered for playing Luke Duke, but that wasn't always going to be the case.

When casting began in 1978, Dennis Quaid expressed interest in the role, but insisted that he would only take it if his wife at the time, P. J. Soles, played the Dukes' cousin, Daisy.

Since the role of Daisy went to Catherine Bach, Dennis walked away from the show, and Tom was casted as Luke.
