On-set injuries
Landing the role of Trinity in ‘The Matrix’ was a dream-come-true for Carrie-Anne Moss, and she’s was determined to not let the part slip through her fingers!
In order to get her skills up to standard, Carrie-Anne had to undergo months of martial arts and wire training, particularly for the opening scene of the 1999 movie. In the action-filled opening, Trinity battles tens of guards by herself, before jumping several storeys from a building.
Whilst filming the stunt, the 56-year-old actress injured herself and twisted her ankle.
Worried that directors Lana and Lilly Wachowski would fire her, Carrie-Anne didn’t tell anyone of her injury until filming wrapped.
