The time machine was almost a fridge!

The Delorean is one of the most iconic vehicles in cinema history, but the time machine almost looked very different.

Initially, Doc and Marty would have used an old fridge to travel back in time, though the idea was quickly scrapped in favour of the car.

Looking back at the concept, Gale said: “Way back in that second draft, it was going to be a ‘time chamber,’ not unlike a refrigerator, and Doc Brown had to carry it on the back of his truck.”
