Disney was amongst the studios who turned down ‘Back to the Future’, and execs really didn't like it!

After writer Bob Gale and director Robert Zemeckis pitched the movie, the studio quickly dismissed it, and explained that it was “too dirty” for Disney.

Bob later said: “We went in to meet with an executive and he says, ‘Are you guys nuts? Are you insane? We can't make a movie like this. You've got the kid and the mother in his car! This is Disney. It's too dirty for us!'"
