Although interest in ‘Back to the Future’ is still high with a stage musical currently running in London, director Robert Zemeckis is insistent the franchise is done on the big screen.
When asked if there would be a ‘Back to the Future 4’, the director said that he would ensure it “can't happen until both Bob [Gale] and I are dead"
He added: "There will never, ever be, in the most absolutely way, a ‘Back to the Future 4’. I'm sure Universal would love it if we were to say to them, 'Hey, let's do another one.’
”But we don't think we could ever make a fourth one that would live up to how great the first three are, so we're going to leave well enough alone."
