The 54-year-old actor played Bruce Banner aka the Hulk in Louis Leterrier’s 2008 film ‘The Incredible Hulk’ - the second film in the MCU.

However, for the character's return in 2012 blockbuster ‘The Avengers’, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige decided to recast the role of Bruce Banner after Norton complained about the final cut of 'The Incredible Hulk'. Mark Ruffalo has played Banner in the MCU ever since.

In an interview with The Independent, Norton addressed his departure, insisting it was about his pay, saying: "Marvel’s going to have to deal with their own karma. They’ve got bigger problems than me. I found it a cheap and unnecessary representation that it was about things other than money.”
