Keanu Reeves
'Speed' came out in 1994 and the action flick about a hijacked and bomb rigged bus was a box office hit, with Keanu Reeves' performance as Police Officer Jack Traven praised.
But when it came to director Jan de Bont’s 1997 sequel 'Speed 2: Cruise Control', it was a case of thanks but no thanks from Keanu.
But why exactly? During an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ Reeves explained: “I loved working with Jan de Bont and Sandra [Bullock], of course. It was just a situation in life where I got the script, and I read the script, and I was like, 'Ah.’ It was about a cruise ship, and I was like, ‘Bus not so fast, then a cruise ship is even slower than a bus.’ And I was just like, ‘I love you guys, but I just can't do it.'"
Instead, Jason Patric played main character Officer Alex Shaw opposite Sandra returning as Annie Porter.
