Sir Sean Connery

Sir Sean Connery (1930-2020) played Indiana Jones’ father Henry Jones Sr., in the 1989 film ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’, directed by Steven Spielberg.

Although it had been billed as the conclusion of the trilogy, Harrison Ford reprised his role as Indy for 2008 sequel ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’, but there was no way Sean was coming back as he had announced his retirement two years prior.

He told The Hollywood Reporter at the time: “I spoke with Spielberg, but it didn't work out. It was not that generous a part, worth getting back into the harness and go for."
