One of Will Smith's most popular moves is undoubtedly 1996's ‘Independence Day', in which he played fighter pilot Captain Steven Hiller.

Despite the box office success of the film, Will did not return to fight the alien invasion for director Roland Emmerich's 2016 sequel.

The actor explained to BBC Radio 1 Xtra, that he turned down the offer due to scheduling issues.

He said: “It was one of those things - I had a couple of films lined up, I had ‘Concussion’ and '... Squad' and so it was a decision, timing-wise, between ‘Independence Day’ and that film.”
