Henry Cavill played DC Comics fan favorite, Superman.

But according to The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill auditioned to play Batman in Christopher Nolan’s 'Dark Knight' trilogy.

Although he was unsuccessful, Cavill did get to face off and then work alongside Ben Affleck's Batman in Zach Snyder's 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and 'Justice League'.
