For the iconic 1989 Batman film, Ivan Reitman (‘Ghostbusters’) was initially set to helm the blockbuster.

What might come as a surprise was that he wanted comedy actor Bill Murray to play the superhero.

Ultimately, none of them joined the cast or crew. In a 2014 interview with David Letterman, Murray addressed it directly, saying: “You know I’ve heard that story too. Really, I have. And God, I would have been an awesome Batman.”
