Bob Crane (1928-1978)
The ‘Hogan’s Heroes’ actor, passed away at age 49 in 1978, in what was a bizarre case that is still a mystery. Crane’s body was found in his Scottsdale, Arizona, home with evident signs of violence, including a cord tied around his neck. However, no struggle or forced entry signs were found. Authorities quickly drew their attention to Crane’s friend, John Carpenter, who had been hanging out with the star prior to his passing. While Crane’s blood was found in Carpenter’s car, authorities were unable to determine he was guilty, as the DNA tests conducted were inconclusive.
Crane and Carpenter were said to have been voyeurs who enjoyed filming their joint sexual experiences with women.
According to Crane’s son, this could have been a key factor in a potential altercation between the star and his pal.
According to Fox 10 Phoenix, Crane Jr. said: “Towards the end of his life, my dad was definitely pulling away from John Carpenter.”
