Linda Darnell (1923-1965)

The ‘Forever Amber’ star died on April 10, 1965 aged 41.

Linda passed after being trapped in house a fire at a property owned by her secretary in Glenview, Illinois,

Darnell got stuck on the second floor of the house unable to escape.

When she was found by fire-fighters she had burns on 80 percent of her body and she later died in hospital from her injuries.

The fire was traced to the living room with careless smoking cited as the cause.
