Christina Applegate
Christina Applegate underwent a double mastectomy in July 2008 after she was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer.
The ‘Dead to Me’ star - whose mother is a repeat cancer survivor - decided to have the surgery so she could guarantee she would be cancer-free for her daughter.
She said: "I'm clear. Absolutely 100 percent clear and clean. It did not spread -- they got everything out, so I'm definitely not going to die from breast cancer.
"My decision, after looking at all the treatment plans that were possibilities for me, the only one that seemed the most logical and the one that was going to work for me was to have a bilateral mastectomy."
In 2009, Applegate founded Right Action for Women, a charitable foundation dedicated to breast cancer screening for women.
