Lisa Snowdon and her fiance George Smart have split after 12 years together.

The 54-year-old presenter and the 47-year-old entrepreneur decided to end their relationship because they "grew apart".

Lisa is now loving life as a singleton, and she feels excited about her future.

Speaking to Ateh Jewel, 48, on the latest episode of HELLO! magazine's Second Act podcast, the model said: "Now I'm feeling like maybe it's even more in my second act now, being 54, because I'm single.

"I'm feeling strong. I'm feeling happy. I'm feeling excited about what the future is."

This Morning's fashion expert, who had recently been spotted in public without her engagement ring, insisted age was not a factor in their romance ending, but that they simply "changed" as people.

Lisa said: "Age didn't come into it at all. I think it was more people change. We both changed. You grow apart. That's what happened."

She added: "It was like over 10 years together. And there were some great times. And I refuse to look back at it all being like really negative.

"It's just like, people change, and now what's going to be my future, you know? It's just quite exciting."

The beauty thinks couples should not stay in a relationship that no longer feels right just because they are afraid of the uncertainty of being single.

Lisa said: "Communication is key. You know, you've got to communicate with each other. And you've just got to be honest with yourself as well: does this feel right anymore?'

"A lot of people want to stay in because it's more comfortable. You don't want to rock the boat.

"You don't know what else is out there. You don't know what life looks like. It's a whole reshift. It's a whole complete change.

"But, you know, if it's not right anymore, it's not right anymore. And you just can't stay in a relationship that isn't right."

Lisa, who met George through MTV and dated years before they rekindled their love for each other in 2014, is not in a rush to get back on the dating scene as she has been enjoying time to herself.

The Celebrity MasterChef 2022 winner, who got engaged to George in December 2016, recently jetted out to Bali, where she did an emotional wellness retreat, and then went to Sri Lanka to see a friend.

Last month, Lisa said on Instagram that the wellness retreat left her feeling "stronger mentally and physically".

And on the podcast, she added that her solo travels have made her think about what she wants in life.

Lisa said: "I'm just like, 'What do I want? What do I need? Where do I want to go?"

The Britain's Next Top Model alum noted that she feels "really comfortable" in her own company.

Reflecting on a moment from her trip, Lisa said: "I was under this gorgeous mosquito four-poster bed, and I was billowing in the can, and I was like, 'Oh, I'm having a romantic moment to myself,' and it was really special.

"And I thought, 'I don't need anyone. I've always been super independent."

The former Capital Radio presenter is happy to date again if the right man comes into her life, but noted: "I'm not actively searching right now."

Lisa added: "I just want to do things. I want to see my girls. I want to see my family. I want to travel. I want to learn some new things."

The breakup has not left the star with regret about not having children with George.

Lisa said: "Somebody mentioned it to me. They were like, 'Oh, you didn't go down that route with George. Are you thinking about now regretting?' I was like, 'No.'

"I just think, like, just move on, move forward ... life's too short. It's going too fast. I want to live in the moment, in the now, and just keep focused."
