Stephen Libby battled social anxiety after he won The Traitors.
The cyber security consultant struggled with being recognised by fans after he and co-deceitful, head of communications Rachel Duffy, snatched the £95,750 jackpot from Faithful, personal trainer Jack Butler, 29, on the BBC game show in January.
Stephen, 32, told the new issue of Heat magazine: "Initially, it was very bizarre. I think I had a couple of days of social anxiety when I was like, 'Why is everyone looking at me?'"
Rachel, 42, agreed, adding: "It's just really weird when you walk down the street, and people are shouting your name. I don't know if I'll ever get used to that.
"As soon as you put me and Stephen together, it's like Gremlins, we multiply. Their excitement multiplies, and the public have been genuinely really lovely."
Stephen has not had a "single negative" encounter.
The reality TV star shared: "I've had lots of young people who are queer come up to me, and tell me how much it meant to them to hear my story.
"That's been the most amazing thing."
Stephen and Rachel could not prepare for how the show would transform their lives.
He said: "After the show, the producers were telling us that things were going to change. But I don't think anyone can really tell you in words what it's going to be like."
The pair split the £95,750 prize between them, and Rachel has used her chunk to treat herself and her children.
She revealed: "I bought a mattress because I need a good night's sleep!
"Also, none of my kids had ever been on a plane, so I took my two little boys to Harry Potter world [near London], and they went on their first plane journey this year and got in the cockpit.
"My little girl is going to London Zoo next month with Stephen - that was her request because she loves him!"
During The Traitors final, Rachel explained that she planned to use her £47,875 prize money to make memories with her three children and mum Anne.
Sadly, in January, Anne, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's in her 40s and later dementia, died at the age of 70.
Rachel said during The Traitors final: "Mummy was just 47 when she was diagnosed with Parkinson's, four years older than I am now, and faces dementia, but still amazes me and my family every single day.
"I just want to create memories with her while I'm still lucky enough to have her, and to create memories with my kids, because they just love their nanny."
