The 30-year-old actress has inspired her husband Ranbir Kapoor to make a similar gesture for their 11-month-old little girl Raha so the youngster has something to look back on when she's older.
During an interview on Hauser's YouTube channel, Ranbir revealed: "Alia is writing her emails every day and I thought I would also write something."
The 41-year-old actor is a "big romantic" and he has always loved the idea of love letters.
He said: "I have always been a very big romantic. I remember seeing my parents' letters to each other or my grandparents' letters.
"There was so much personal involvement in them.
"You could keep them (the letters) for years and years and preserve them."
The 'Animal' actor is concerned the art of writing letters is dying in favour of "superficial" digital communication.
He lamented: “Now you send emails and texts to people. But these are very superficial."
Alia recently spoke of how "miraculous" she thinks her body is since giving birth.
She said: "One of the things I was so surprised by was how miraculous the human body is.
"How it supports you, takes care of you and what it’s capable of doing. It’s so beautiful and also, so much work. When I was younger, I was a bit critical of my body, but this is what I’d tell my younger self: you have years ahead of you. Don’t worry about the way your body looks.”
