The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Sir Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth journey reaches its 25th anniversary in 2026.

The 2001 blockbuster tells the tale of Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) as he begins a perilous quest to destroy the One Ring alongside the Fellowship.

The movie also stars Sir Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey, Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn, Sean Astin as Samwise Gamgee, John Rhys Davis as Gimli, Sean Bean as Boromir, Orlando Bloom as Legolas and Sir Christopher Lee as Saruman.

The Fellowship of the Ring turned The Lord of the Rings franchise into one of Hollywood’s heaviest hitters, and its latest entry The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum is slated to land in cinemas in December 2027.
