Mariska Hargitay pokes fun at herself in opening monologue

Mariska Hargitay – the first female to host the ceremony for 15 years - poked fun at her long-running role in Law and Order: Special Victims Unit during her opening monologue at the ceremony.

The 62-year-old actress, who has appeared on the NBC show as Olivia Benson since 1999, quipped: "The Emmys are celebrating their 78th year and NBC is celebrating its 100th year and I have been on Law and Order for all of them."
