Sam Smith - Writing’s on the Wall (2015)

For Spectre, Sam Smith delivered one of the franchise’s most vulnerable themes.

Referring to Adele's Skyfall, Sam said: "It felt like an impossible act to follow.”

The haunting ballad, complete with falsetto and heartbreak, mirrored Bond’s emotional conflict in the film.

The track went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song, a second statuette for a Bond theme.
