A Bittersweet Memory

Actress Mary Riggans, who played beloved feather-duster-waving shop owner Suzie Sweet in Balamory, passed away in December 2013 at the age of 78, a year after suffering a stroke.

In the new revival of the show, Penny Pocket, played by Kim Tserkezie (pictured), pays tribute to Riggans’ iconic character by wearing red - the colour originally associated with Suzie Sweet.
