Balamory Mania

Although Balamory was a fictional place - where each character lived in a brightly coloured house, designed to help children recognise characters and develop memory skills - it was filmed mainly in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull in Scotland. This led to a huge surge in tourism, with hundreds of fans flocking to the island daily, hoping to catch a glimpse behind the scenes.
