Despite gaining a cult following in recent years, Spaceballs did not fare particularly well at the box office when it hit cinemas in 1987.
On a budget of $22.7 million, the film pulled in $38.1 million.
Spaceballs didn’t win any major honours either, but did bag the Worst Picture at the 1987 Stinkers Bad Movie Awards.
