Five Nights at Freddy’s
While not a masterclass of storytelling, ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ did an excellent job of capturing the eerie atmosphere of Scott Cawthon’s original 2014 horror game when it hit theatres in 2023.
Starring Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail and Matthew Lillard, ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ tells the story of Mike Schmidt who gets roped into working as a security guard at the long-abandoned Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, only for him to discover the old animatronics come to life at night - and have violent intentions.
A sequel is currently in the works at Blumhouse Productions - which is slated to release in December 2025 - and Hutcherson recently teased ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ will be “much bigger” and “scarier” than its predecessor.
He teased: “There’s more animatronics being brought in, different animatronics being brought in, and the world just opens up in a big way. “We’re finding the balance right now of building this world and expanding it in a really cool way but also making sure the characters stay really grounded.”
