The Witcher

Hitting the small screen in 2019, ‘The Witcher’ is an engaging and faithful adaptation of CD Projekt Red’s game series of the same name.

The Netflix show tells the tale of monster hunter Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) who follows his destiny throughout the Continent, before finding his life becomes intertwined with those of Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Princess Ciri (Freya Allan).

So far, the programme has run for three seasons, though Cavill exited the show in 2022, and while no official reason for his departure was given, it has been speculated the actor wanted ‘The Witcher’ series to be more faithful to the source material.

Following Cavill’s exit, Liam Hemsworth was brought on the play Geralt, and is set to portray the monster hunter in the show’s fourth and fifth seasons - with the former slated to release later in 2025.
