Sonic the Hedgehog
‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ has proven to be just as successful on the silver screen as it is on a monitor or a TV!
The Sega franchise made its cinematic debut with 2020’s ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’, and made over $320 million at the box office globally.
The movie saw Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) team up with Tom Wachowski (James Marden), while Doctor Eggman (Jim Carrey) looks to utilise the blue hedgehog’s powers in his quest to take over the World.
Following the first film, the sequel ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ released in 2022, and expanded the movie universe by introducing Knuckles, as voiced by Idris Elba.
This was succeeded by the 2024 Paramount+ spin-off TV show ‘Knuckles’.
Most recently, ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ hit cinemas in Decmeber 2024, which followed the hedgehog as he and his friends try to stop Shadow (voiced by Keanu Reeves) from destroying the planet.
Once ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ also proved to be a box office hit - bringing in $491.6 million globally - Paramount has reportedly greenlit a fourth film, which is aiming for a Spring 2027 release.
