Sir Sean Connery
As the first person to play James Bond on the big screen, Sir Sean Connery carved out a legacy for himself as 007, but the actor actually detested the character.
The late Hollywood star - who appeared as Bond from 1962’s ‘Dr. No’ until ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ in 1971 - was reported as saying: "I have always hated that damned James Bond. I’d like to kill him."
Even by his third Bond flick ‘Goldfinger’, Connery had become disdainful of the character.
He said at the time: "[Bond is ] a dull, prosaic English policeman [when all the] exotic touches [are stripped away]."
