In September 1959, a 24-year-old Elvis met the 14-year-old Priscilla Wagner at a party at his villa in Bad Nauheim, Germany, which he had rented during his military service.

The pair continued to see one another and became close until Elvis left West Germany in March 1960.

Priscilla and Elvis reconnected in the summer of 1962 when she spent two weeks with the singer.

After falling in love, they eventually married on May 1, 1967, at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.

They went on to have daughter Lisa Marie Presley in February 1968.

After some happy years of marriage the couple separated in February 1972 following Elvis becoming emotionally distant, as well as not being present at home due to his career resurgence following his 1968 TV special.

During that period Priscilla sought comfort in the arms of other men.

Their divorced was finalised in 1973.
