Music return
Elvis returned from his station in Germany to America on 2 March, 1960, and was honourably discharged three days later.
Within two weeks, Elvis was back in the recording studio cutting tracks for a new album.
In May, Elvis’ manager Colonel Tom Parker bagged him $125,000 for eight minutes' worth of singing on ‘The Frank Sinatra Timex Special’.
As well as his music career, Elvis had also made his way onto the silver screen, with his musical comedy ‘G.I. Blues’ - in which he starred as soldier Tulsa McLean - hitting cinemas in November.
