Arnold rejected

Douglas Quaid is one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's most well-known roles, but the actor wasn't initially wanted for the part.

When 'The Terminator' star's name was thrown into the discussion, producer Dino DeLaurentiis dismissed him, and instead wanted to plum for Patrick Swayze.

Once Dino's production company De Laurentiis Entertainment Group went bankrupt, Arnold saw an opportunity to win the role, and managed to convince Carloco Pictures to purchase the rights to the movie and cast him as the lead.
