The 1988 buddy cop flick featured Arnie as Soviet cop Ivan Danko as he teams up with Chicago officer Viktor Rostavili (Jim Belushi), although director Walter Hill didn't want the Schwarzenegger persona at the centre of the project.

The filmmaker said: "I had confidence in him as an actor. I didn't want him to just throw a Volkswagen over a building. Arnold has an ability that cuts through cultures and countries."
