Schwarzenneger and Danny DeVito played an unlikely pair of siblings in the 1988 buddy comedy from the late director Ivan Reitman.

The picture proved to be a box-office smash but Ivan's son Jason Reitman appears to have put the brakes on a potential sequel.

He said: "Jason Reitman literally stopped the project when his father died.

"His father wanted to do it really badly. I wanted to do it really badly. Danny DeVito wanted to do it really badly. We had the financing. When his father passed away, Jason says, 'I never liked the idea', and put a hold on it."
