Total Recall

Arnie starred in Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 sci-fi film as construction worker Douglas Quaid, whose mind is implanted with false memories of a trip to Mars. The procedure goes awry as Quaid discovers his whole life is a false memory and those responsible for the implant want him dead.

The movie enjoyed considerable success at the box office but Arnie wouldn’t have been in it all had producer Dino De Laurentiis worked on the film.

He recalled to The Ringer: "I've been chasing for years, years, years. Because Dino De Laurentiis had it.

"And he always felt, 'Schwarzenegger, I'd like you to be Conan. I don't like you to be in 'Total Recall'. I have Jeff Bridges."
