Stunt injury
Being a fast-paced action movie, it won’t come as a shock to hear that ‘First Blood’ had a pretty major set injury.
During the scene where Rambo is being chased by police whilst riding a stolen motorcycle, stuntman Bennie E. Dobbins - who was standing in for Brian Dennehy’s Sheriff Will Teasle - broke his back after his car landed badly on its chassis after it sped off a ramp at 70 miles an hour.
The car rolled for several hundred feet before it came to a halt, allowing the stuntman to leave the vehicle.
However, once he got out of the car, Bennie found he couldn’t walk, and fell to the ground.
The jump and landing was later re-shot with a different stuntman.
