Harrison Ford
Harrison Ford famously wanted to distance himself from the character hated Han Solo after the original trilogy ended in 1983.
Ford even begged George Lucas to kill him off in 'The Empire Strikes Back' and 'Return of the Jedi', though the sci-fi visionary ultimately decided against the request.
Harrison didn’t think the character was particularly compelling, and emphasised that his other big role, Indiana Jones, was a much better part to play.
He said: “He’s got a good heart but I think he’s certainly a much less interesting character than Indiana Jones. He’s dumb as a stump. The breadth of his story utility was never extensive. He was the foil between the other more compelling elements of the film, between the sage old warrior and the young hero. There’s not much breadth of character to explore beyond what we got out of him.”
Ford did pilot the Millennium Falcon once again in 2015 Disney sequel 'The Force Awakens' and he finally got his wish for Han to be killed off, in this movie by the lightsaber wielded by his son Kylo Ren.
