Pastel inspirations

‘Miami Vice’ has a heavy focus on pastel colouring for its costuming and production design, with the idea springing from a holiday and a trip to a paint store by executive producer Michael Mann.

He recalled: "I was playing around with them and I realised: three colors become thematic, two colors don’t.

"Three colors, you can actually start telling a chromatic story. You can create a mood with three colors."
