Leon: The Professional
Natalie Portman appeared in Luc Besson’s 1994 film, ‘Léon: The Professional’, when she was 12 years old. Her character, Mathilda, bonds with hitman Leon (Jean Reno), who protects her after her entire family are killed over drugs.
In the movie, Portman's character develops a crush on the adult Leon, and now the 42-year-old actress has spoken out about how the movie contributed to her being sexualized in Hollywood at a young age.
In an interview with Far Out magazine, Natalie said: “Being sexualized as a child, I think, took away from my own sexuality because it made me afraid, and it made me [feel] like the way I could be safe was to be like: ‘I’m conservative,’ and ‘I’m serious, and you should respect me,’ and ‘I’m smart,’ and ‘don’t look at me that way'."
