‘You go to movie premieres, hear your songs on the radio…’ Miley's milestones
Despite its bumpy road to the screen, ‘Hannah Montana’ was an instant success. The series’ soundtrack album was released in October 2006 and topped the charts. It featured in-universe songs including theme song ‘Best of Both Worlds’, ‘Just Like You’ and ‘If We Were a Movie’ and a further four top-selling albums followed.
Miley embarked on the mammoth ‘Best of Both Worlds Tour’ whilst the second season aired and it was later decided that the series would be adapted a theatrical film adaptation, becoming only the second Disney Channel show to do so after 'Lizzie McGuire'.
‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ was released in April 2009 and made $169 million worldwide. It featured a soundtrack with music by Taylor Swift and provided Miley with her hit song ‘The Climb’, which is the only song from the franchise that she has ever performed since the series ended.
