'We haven’t met, but that’s okay, ‘cause you will be asking for me one day...' Miley had to pay for her own audition
In 2004, Miley – the daughter of 'Achy Breaky Heart' singer Billy Ray Cyrus – learned that Disney were creating a musical show about a girl who has a secret identity as a pop star.
Despite having little experience, the wannabe star kept sending in video tapes until Disney executives relented but made her pay her own way her audition!
Show creator Michael Poryes said: “While we were looking, Miley auditioned via video tape. We saw, and we turned her down. She was 10! She sent in another video tape and finally Disney said ‘Let’s have her out here, but she’s paying for it!’ They didn’t pay for nothing!”
