‘If you could see the other side of me…’ How Hannah Montana could have been VERY different

In the show, Miley was a Tennessee girl who had moved to LA to pursue her secret pop career, choosing to hide her identity so she could maintain a normal life away from the world of celebrity. The writers took a great deal of inspiration from Miley’s own life but the show could have been very different.

Show creator Michael Poryes explained: “Hannah Montana was a Jewish girl from New York and her father was a studio musician! There was a big backstory that had and everything!”
