It seems that the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movies could have been very different, as one of the series’ big bads was nearly played by Matthew McConaughey.

Before Kurt Russell was cast as Ego the Living Planet, the ‘Interstellar’ star was approached for the role, but turned it down after he decided that the story wasn’t strong enough.

In an interview, the 54-year-old actor said that the filmmakers though that “[Guardians of the Galaxy is] successful, and now we’ve got room to make a colorful part for another big-name

actor.”
