Robert De Niro in Angel Heart

The iconic role of Louis Cyphre, aka Lucifer, in the 1987 film ‘Angel Heart,’ was played by screen legend Robert De Niro.

The movie - directed by the mind behind ‘Midnight Express’ and ‘Birdy’, Alan Parker (1944-2020) - explores the story of De Niro’s character, who hires a private detective named Harry (Mickey Rourke), in order to track the whereabouts of a famous musician. Eventually, it is discovered that the latter had sold his soul to the Devil. Both De Niro and Parker earned Saturn Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor and Best Writing, respectively.
