Daniel Stern had a real tarantula on his face

Daniel Stern was not very happy when he learned he had to perform with a live spider on his face.

In the famous scene, Daniel's burglar character Marv Murchins chases Kevin up to the loft, only for the youngster to find his brother Buzz's escaped tarantula and placing it on the robber's face.

Recalling the scene, the 66-year-old actor told The Hollywood Reporter that he begged the production to remove the spider’s stinger, but they refused, saying that it would die if they did.

He replied: “I said, 'Yeah, but if you don't take it out, I'll die.'"
