Drew Barrymore never finished school, and her teenage struggle with substance abuse would keep her from having a normal, happy childhood.

Explaining why her school days were "hell", the 48-year-old actress said: "School was hell - I was like the fat child who got beat up every day.

“I think some of the most funny and artistic people are the ones who got crap at school, had a hard childhood, and have a lot better stories to tell from it.”
