Travis Kelce explains why the Kansas City Chiefs improved
Sports star Travis Kelce has reflected on the Kansas City Chiefs' improved form.
Travis Kelce thinks the Kansas City Chiefs are more united this season.
The Chiefs have made a positive start to the NFL season, winning their first two games of the campaign, and Travis has now posited a reason as to why they're looking so good.
Travis, 36 - who married pop star Taylor Swift in July - said on his New Heights podcast: "It just feels like there’s a lot more unity.
"You know, it may just be over the summer and all the acquisitions that we got, not only the players but the coaches, but just in the building, the determination and the mindset, there’s a different feel from how we go to work during the week, just our chemistry in the locker room and on the field."
Travis suggested, too, that his teammates are working discernibly harder this season.
He said: "Everybody’s just kind of playing off each other and it’s a fun game when you’re doing that, man.
"If you get everybody all in on the guy’s next to him’s success and playing their tail off for the man’s next to him’s success, it’s so much more fun, man. And that’s what you see right now."
Travis also heaped praise on quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has returned from a potentially career-threatening ligament injury.
He said: "You’ve got Patty Mahomes out there, the Texas gunslinger, man, he was f****** letting it rip. A few of them caught me off-guard and I’ve got to get my f****** head around it."
Meanwhile, Patrick previously claimed that Taylor has helped to make the NFL franchise a "worldwide team".
He told Time magazine: "[The Chiefs] went from a nationwide team that was kind of global to a full global worldwide team. That came from Taylor’s fanbase."
Patrick also admitted to being impressed by Taylor's work ethic.
The quarterback - who is widely regarded as one of the best players in the NFL - said: "I’ve met a lot of famous people now in my life. Taylor’s probably the most down-to-earth person that’s been on that stage for that long.
"She’s never not working. Even when she’s taking her downtime, she’s working on something. Shooting a music video or singing a song or writing a song. You can see it by how she talks."
