Johnny Depp decided that school wasn’t quite his groove, and dropped out to become a musician.

Appearing on the ‘Inside the Actors Studio’ show, he said: "I thought, 'You know what? This is crazy, I should go back.' I went back and I spoke to the dean of the school and he said… 'I know that you have this music thing… That's your passion, so you should go with that.’"

Music success came later for Depp, after an audition for horror film 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' changed his life.
