Life before fame...

Zayn now enjoys a quiet life residing on a farm in Pennsylvania.

But the singer has not always lived in such lavish surroundings, admitting that his family were impoverished in Bradford, England.

He said: "Bradford is an impoverished community, people below working class that have a hard environment, everyone has some issues going on at home or something is happening. There is a lot of conflict. It was very different to here, I am very grateful because it shaped and moulded a lot of identity for me. Early on I was questioned about my identity and my environment – you have to have a good understanding of who you are. It helped cement my identity.”
