According to ABC News, in 2016 the Academy even asked celebs to submit a list of all the names they would like to thank, so they could add them to their website.
In 1943, however, actress Greer Garson (1904-1996) spoke for more than five minutes after winning the Oscar for Best Actress for her role on ‘Mrs. Miniver’, making it one of the longest Oscar speeches of all time.
Adrien Brody spoke for more than three minutes after winning the Best Actor Oscar for his role in the 2002 film ‘The Pianist’.
