Love Island star at centre of sexual assault probe ‘rearrested on suspicion of perverting course of justice’
The reported arrest is said to be part of an ongoing Metropolitan Police investigation into a series of alleged offences, including sexual assault and stalking.
A former Love Island contestant has reportedly been re-arrested as part of an ongoing Metropolitan Police investigation into a series of alleged offences, including sexual assault and stalking.
According to The Sun, the former reality TV star, who The Sun said is in his 20s and cannot be identified for legal reasons, was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
The publication added the arrest relates to an existing police investigation into allegations of sexual assault, stalking, coercive and controlling behaviour, criminal damage, assault by beating and alleged threats involving “revenge porn”.
It added the man has been bailed while enquiries continue.
Love Island broadcaster ITV is understood to be aware of the investigation.
The former contestant is not connected to the current series of the programme, which returned to screens this week with Maya Jama once again hosting the dating show.
According to The Sun, the latest arrest followed allegations the former contestant contacted the alleged victim in the case while the investigation was ongoing.
A source told the publication: “This second arrest is a real shock – and potentially very bad news for the ex-contestant.
“There was an investigation going on into very serious offences that he was arrested over last year.
“And now it seems like he might have contacted the alleged victim to try to pressure them into withdrawing from the case.
“If that is true, and he has done so, it is incredibly serious and he’s been very stupid.
“The courts and CPS take a very dim view of that sort of thing for obvious reasons.”
The individual was reportedly first arrested in November last year after arriving in the UK through Gatwick Airport.
The latest arrest is said to have taken place at his home address on 27 April.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed a man in his 20s had been arrested as part of the investigation.
A spokesperson for the force said: “A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
“The arrest relates to an ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual assault, stalking, criminal damage and assault.
“He was arrested at an address on Monday, April 27 and bailed pending further enquiries.”
No charges have been brought in relation to the allegations and police enquiries remain ongoing.
The development comes as the latest series of Love Island began airing on ITV.
The reality dating programme remains one of Britain’s most-watched entertainment formats and has produced a number of high-profile television personalities and social media influencers since its revival in 2015.
The new series returned on Monday (01.06.26) and featured contestants taking part in a kissing challenge during the opening week.
